PS5 controller tester

A DualSense shows its buttons as Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle, L1/R1, L2/R2, Create, Options, PS and Touchpad click. To pair it over Bluetooth, hold PS + Create until the light bar flashes, then pick “DualSense Wireless Controller” in your computer’s Bluetooth settings. The browser can’t read the touchpad’s position, the motion sensors or the adaptive triggers’ resistance; those need the console or Steam.

Xbox controller tester

Xbox Series and Xbox One controllers show A, B, X, Y, LB/RB, LT/RT, View, Menu and the Xbox button; Series controllers also report the Share button. Pair over Bluetooth by holding the small pair button on top until the Xbox logo flashes fast. Chrome and Edge can test both rumble motors.

Fixing stick drift

  • Raise the dead zone in your game’s settings: it hides small drift.
  • Blow compressed air around the base of the stick while rotating it.
  • Recalibrate in Steam (Controller settings → Calibrate) or Windows (Set up USB game controllers → Properties → Settings → Calibrate).
  • Persistent drift means a worn stick module: check the warranty, or replace the module or the controller.

FAQ

How do I test my controller online?

Connect the controller with USB or Bluetooth, open this page and press any button. The controller appears with every button, both sticks and the triggers shown live. Press each button until it turns green, move both sticks, and press Test vibration.

Why doesn't my controller show up?

Browsers only reveal a controller after you press a button on it, for privacy. If it still doesn't appear, check it's connected in your system's Bluetooth or game controller settings, try a different USB cable (some only charge), and close Steam, DS4Windows or other apps that may take over the controller.

How do I check for stick drift?

Let go of both sticks. Their dots should sit in the middle and the readings should be close to 0. If a dot creeps or the value stays above about 0.12 without you touching the stick, that's stick drift. Small values below that are normal and handled by in-game dead zones.

Does the controller tester work with PS5 and Xbox controllers?

Yes. DualSense (PS5), DualShock 4 (PS4), Xbox Series and Xbox One controllers, Switch Pro controllers and most PC gamepads work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Button names change to match your controller.

Why doesn't vibration work?

Rumble needs browser support: Chrome and Edge vibrate Xbox and PlayStation controllers; Firefox and Safari usually don't. Over Bluetooth, some PlayStation controllers only rumble when connected by USB.
