About Test My Device

Test My Device is a set of free tools for checking the devices you use every day: your microphone, webcam, speakers and keyboard. Open a test, allow access if asked, and you know in seconds whether the device works and how well.

How the tests work

Every test uses features built into your browser. The mic test reads the audio level and waveform straight from your microphone; the webcam test reads the resolution and measures the real frame rate; the speaker test generates tones on your device; the keyboard test listens for key presses on this page. All of it happens on your own computer or phone.

Privacy

Your voice, picture and keystrokes never leave your device. We don't run servers that receive them, and there are no accounts. Details are in our privacy policy.
